I don't entirely disagree with that assessment. The blurry image makes it hard to tell for sure. I was simply going on the assumption that the photo was actually taken in 1982, as claimed. The Blue Angels transitioned from the F-4 Phantom II to the A-4 Skyhawk in 1974, and then to the F/A-18 in 1986.
