From previous replies the base has had numerous official and quasi-official names over the years. The most recent name that could be considered official is Homey Airfield. It showed up unceremoniously on aviation charts a number of years ago and there are even unclassified approach and departure charts published by Jeppesen that I'll link to below. It can still be found on IFR en route charts but there are no currently published charts (at least that I can find) There was also a lawsuit in the 90s by a former contractor who believed he had contracted cancer due to exposure to chemicals while working at the base. The Judge in the case went back and forth with the government and eventually they were required to provide an official name for the facility. It was dubbed "Air Force operating location near Groom Lake, Nevada" not a very sexy name but it's likely that maybe it sparked the government that they needed to give the base a true official title.
