The signal from the sensors is relayed to the base by small units on terrain high points. The relays are not much bigger than the actual sensors.

The info from the sensor is transmitted as a very short FM data burst. There is an audio sample on our scanner page. The first audio file in the attached link.

When we first discovered the new sensors back in 2003 the information on the system was readily available online on the manufacturer web site. Shortly after we published the photos and a link to the web site the info was taken offline. I suppose if someone really wanted to dig up the information they could use the wayback machine. The manufacturer is Qual-Tron, Inc.
