OT: Heizer's "The City" to open soon

See link. After 50 years "The City" will finally open to the public, on a limited basis. It is on the east side of Garden Valley, near Water Gap. About 30 miles NE of Rachel. You can get there on dirt roads from Rachel or from Hwy 318 north of Hiko. Last time I was there signs made it very clear that they did not want anyone poking around up there. The artist, Heizer, is known as quite eccentric around here and it is my understanding that if it was up to him he would keep his artwork all to himself.

"The City" is easily visible on Google Earth at 38° 02.0'N / 115° 26.5'W.

I don't expect big crowds, but then I said that about the "Seven Magic Mountains" south of Vegas and now it is a zoo down there.
