I saw it too, loved it!

I couldn't help but wonder if the screenplay had ever called for a Nevada-based home for their Darkstar plane... I remember reading that the people making Independence Day were getting along great with the US government all the way until they saw 'Area 51' in the screenplay, and then pulled all the support they'd been giving when the film production wouldn't change the location to another base.

But anyway, go see Top Gun in a theater, it was a big loud good time.
