I mean, can you blame them? If it was built at Skunk Works and then trucked out to Mohave or wherever they filmed the desert scenes ... it's certainly at least plausible.

And with Skunk Works engineers involved, we've got to assume that their security team was aware. Can you imagine how much fun the counterintelligence team could have had with that one? They very well could have moved it in a way that made it look totally real.

Many of us have heard the stories of guys at Groom and TTR posing pictures when they knew the Russians were overhead. I'm sure those games have not stopped.

And, on the other hand, there is the rumor going around that this could be a soft reveal of the SR-72 -- although I would have expected that big taa-daa to have come out by now, given that the movie already opened.
