To echo CoyoteUgly. I can't think of any public rollouts.

As shown by Pete Merlin and history, the U-2 wasn't very secretive, just its' specs, purpose and who for. I'd say the Manhatten Project tried to stay more secretive.

A-12 was highly classified and was announced as the YF-12 while they were working the airframe into the air force inventory. Then became the SR-71. It was years and years before most heard of an A-12.

The F-117 had been disseminated to the britts before the AF showed their grainy blurry photo of it in a press confereance. But the stealth thing was already a nomer.

TACIT BLUE. The white whale. The nickname was known before we ever saw her.

The Bird of Prey, again, we knew the nickname, saw a program patch in AWST, before we ever saw her. Everyone who was looking, missed that the plane's actual shape was in the patch.
