To the best of my recollection, the K-36 does not have a manual restraint/parachute release mechanism as on the ACES seat. The CAD/PAD items on the K-36 were a constant headache because their service/shelf life data were unreliable, and obtaining serviceable time change items was almost impossible. Further the energetic materials in those Russian CAD/PAD items were unpredictable. There was some consideration of license building the K-36 in the US, but the energetic material in its CAD/PAD items could not be produced in the US due to environmental laws.
