On page 139 of the book "Secret Projects: Military Space Technology", there is mention of an article in a March 1994 issue of Popular Science asserting that an arms control analyst claimed to have been shown a classified image taken by a Landsat satellite of Groom Lake showing three large aircraft near the main runway, and according to the report, the arms control analyst interpreted that the aircraft he reportedly noticed in the Landsat image were roughly the shape and size of the XB-70 Valkyrie. The supposed satellite image you mention was said to have been taken over Patrick AFB (now Patrick Space Force Base), as noted at the page "Known and rumored Black projects", and the reported sighting of TSTO aircraft occurred in November 1996.
