Hi everybody,

I was watching this documentary on the F-117 where a test pilot says that he "started talking to The Home Plate" when there were issues with his prototype.

Per https://www.dreamlandresort.com/info/janet_routes.html "Home Plate" can simply refer to Area 51.

These HAVE BLUE prototypes were obviously being flown out at Groom, that's well documented. My question is why he said "The Home Plate" and not "Home Plate"?

Is it possible that Home Plate refers to the person in charge of test flights and not the base itself?
