Another rare aircraft, RAT 55, is currently operating in the NTTR. It is a heavily modified Boeing 737-200 with a large nose and tail cone to accommodate instrumentation. It serves as a test platform for airborne radar and IR measurements.

Flew right through "the box". The track starts in mid-aid west of Mt. Irish. There are indications that they took off from Area 51.
