It probably is as simple as the evaluation of these aircraft at Groom/TTR has concluded. I am sure newly "acquired" more modern assets are being evaluated, but inside the ranges, away from curious eyes and camera lenses. The MiG-29 really is not a big secret any more since the East German military assets, including MiG-29 jets, were integrated into the German Air Force many years ago. Since then I am sure our pilots had plenty of opportunity to take them for a spin or fly against them.
