Here another article on the same event, a bit more detailed than "The Drive" article. Whatever they encountered, the craft were a far cry from the eye watering performers that played tag with the F/A-18 guys. Their performance seem to be on par with upscale commercial drones, low and slow enough for the ship's company to attempt to shoot them down with rubber projectiles fired from glorified NERF guns used for line throwing between ships. Also, some may remember a similar incident occurred over US military installations in Guam last fall.
