I haven't been to the mine using either road. I did travel Rainbow and Snow Springs a few months ago and they are very good. Almost all these routes travel valleys and are subject to flash flooding (although it has been very dry this summer, so far). I am attaching a link showing Google's Las Vegas to Cherokee. You turn off the freeway between Moapa and Riverside onto Rainbow. You can't tell conditions of the roads until you travel them. Email me your dates and I may be able to go with you. (Anyone else interested?)
