Why are F117s still flying tests? My opinion.

The F117, right now, is the single hardest jet to find on IR sensors that's cleared for white world daytime operations.

Nothing - no UAV, no manned platform, comes even close to being able to hide 'In the weeds' as well as a 117. They are an absolute living nightmare to track and chase, those big fishtails spread the cold air mix in and it's like chasing Casper.

So in all, I am not shocked to see them zooming about, as they are still an amazing design with many dirty little tricks to stay out of harms way hid under the hood.

One day maybe we will see a big UAV with just that type of exhaust upon it. Does wonders for hiding 'up there' against the cold skies.
