I'm no expert, but the "web archive" satellite image does not look like a satellite image. It could be an issue with resolution, or my limited knowledge, but there are several items in that image that do not look right to me. At all. The shadows make it look like Hangars 4, 5, and 6 are round-top construction, but they are not. The dormitories look like individual units, but the dormitories were changed to the current setup prior to 1988, correct? And the labeled "B-1A Prototype" on the Janet Ramp. Why would a prototype B-1 be at Area 51 two months after the last B-1B (a follow-on aircraft) was delivered to USAF? All that said, it's difficult for me to draw conclusions based on an image that may not be accurate.
