Shikaka was the great white bat from the movie "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls." The great white bat theme was carried over to the new squadron patch. There is also a more stylized bat emblem that is much simpler than your photoshop illustration. (No neck, clean lines; you could almost mistake it for a Batman emblem at first glance.) I have seen several variants, but not a full blackout version.
