All aviation maps, charts, approaches have a limited time that they are valid, sort of an expiration date. The airports don't move but sometimes the frequencies, sectors, fixes, taxiways, approaches and magnetic north will change. It is the PIC's responsibility to have current maps and data for each flight. Now apps on iPads are more common than paper. A Las Vegas sectional is $7 - 10, I have used them for wall decoration after they expired.
