In case you haven't seen it, the latest Maverick (Top Gun 2) trailer shows a triangular plane taking off towards the end. Tom Cruise is also shown many times in a flight suit which resembles that of the U2/A12/SR71. Would the Military unveil a new plane via a movie such as Top Gun 2? It certainly seems plausible given the amount of filming they have done with the military, and the positive recruitment tool Top Gun was in the 80's. They also show the F14...I wonder if they managed to get one flying, or old footage.
