Was wondering if anyone had some history of A51 flight operations, post USAF C54 accident on M Charleston? I know that Lockheed operated a couple Constellations back and forth between Burbank and the "Ranch" during the 1962/63 time period as I frequented the Burbank airport in the early hours and the all white, no titles Connie would call Burbank ground and ask for a IFR clearance to the Ranch, I was clueless regarding and A51 activity at the time so I just accepted it as something strange. I know EG&G operated either a Convair 340 or a Matin 404 about this same time along with a D50 Twin Bonanza but I think these two aircraft were dedicated to the NTS.I believe the larger of these two were used in the search for the USN submarine Thresher when it sunk. Any thoughts are appreciated.
