The normal flight path for commercial planes is just west of the 95 highway. On a clear day you can see TTR pretty good. I have no idea why the F-117s were outside if you are sure about your dates? They were always inside during the day up until the public anouncement in 1989. You may have seen A-7D's or Migs outside, possibly T-38's? I was stationed up there 1990-1993. In Mar 1990 they showed two to the public at Nellis. About 130000 people showed up to have a look. After that daytime flights were common.
