As for flying drones, Rachel is located in a Military Operations Area (MOA). There are some restrictions to flying drones. See our FAQ and visitor information section for more information. And yes, all dirt roads from the highway to the perimeter will be blocked off, so people won't even get close to the perimeter (which is still 12-20 miles from the base on the other side of a mountain range). As for the $1000 media parking: I have talked to dozens of media companies over the last several weeks, including mainstream outlets. Every single one of them said: No way are they paying that kind of money to promote their business. I would be shocked if they sold spot one.
