Amusing side note: Hooray for Perl. As part of my job, we deal with volume data in binary and text format, and when I tell the "kids" my programs that I pass about to help convert and analyze this stuff is written in Perl, they look at me as if I'm a fossil. I then proceed to tell them the language they taught in college was FORTRAN. It's fun to watch their heads explode.
