My son and I have visited the area twice just for shits and giggles. Didn't expect to see much, really didn't, but we can say we've been there. Last time was in 2017. At the back gate, we looked around, didn't see much, took pictures, and since we were in the middle of nowhere, decided to take a whizz before going back to Vegas. A door flew open from the little guard box next to the gate, and a guy came out and hollered at us, and quickly went back inside. So, I guess, don't defile the desert is about the only rule.
