I am of the thought that possibly the greatest UCAV story of the year has slipped right past everyone's attention as all eyes were on B-21 / PEA and weird F-117.

I hope the links and image links work - The image I want to show is thr RQ-170 at V'Berg, with the weird leading edge and underwing panel.

The link is to an old, 2005 article regarding conformal antenna for J-UCAS that was matured enough to be slapped onto a UAS. X-band - X-band antenna for both air to air and air to ground.

With all the noise of the modern equipment, I think this one barrelled through mostly unnotice, andd I have to say that if I am correct in my opinions, the USAF has the greatest technological leap in unmanned airframes since QUARTZ and her colour changing skin.

AESA built into the airframes load bearing structure itself.

Have a read, have a look, let me know what you think.
