Taking into account it's a prototype/development hack, I wouldn't worry too much about the flight test instrumentation and other apertures, and possibly a temporary engine fit. Look at the X-45A of 15 years ago, it had lumps and bumps all over it too.

The fact that they have apparently got a flying wing with no vertical or horizontal control surfaces to successfully fly is a big leap.

The next big challenge will be integrating a low-IR engine exhaust, and being able to successfully productionize it and integrate it into a joint-combat force, something even the US has struggled with with its UAVs.
