You are correct, Alamo Road cuts across a corner of the restricted area, into the 60's ranges. For now it is safe to drive. There are warning signs west of the road, but the road is open to the public. There is a section at the south end of desert lake that sometimes is closed due to flooding though. If the Air Force gets away with the planned land grab Alamo Road will be closed to the public in a year or two. Better explore it while you still can. It is some beautiful country.
