The last time I looked the AOF was managed by Lockheed Martin. The other flight operation at Yucca Lake was operated by a different company.

The AOF is used primarily for testing UAVs and UAV systems. UAVs have special needs and these are often difficult to reconcile with manned flight test activity in other areas. For example, the AOF has been used to test UAV behavior when communication with a ground station has been lost.
