Interesting you should ask... I spent some time recently modeling the fences i could see in the sat images to see where they were and what they were protecting. Some of the fences actually protect hangars and the areas around them while most fences simply protect base infrastructure (CE stuff) and storage yards. I assume the CE stuff is fenced to keep people from messing with things and potentially getting fried. The storage stuff is obvious - supply people are always worried someone will take their "stuff" so they are usually big customers of locks and fences and guard dogs. you can see the 12 fenced areas i found so far at: If you see any fenced areas i missed let me know at the Yahoo Area51Model group site and i will add them to the model.
