Habu is actually the Japanese name for a venomous pit viper indigenous to Okinawa Island. In Ben Rich's book "Skunkworks," he says when the locals near Kadena AFB saw the SR-71 they named it "Habu" after the snake. The Habu patch is still one of my favorites. What a cool logo.
