Saw this one in the Air Force's Week in Photos 05/06 slideshow. The F-16s look to be just north of R-2502N (Ft. Irwin) Between the two F-16s and closest to the one on the right you can see a road going through a canyon with dark terrain. The road (going up in the picture) goes out into the valley.
