You raise an interesting question here: The F-117 was one of the first aircraft that was so unstable that it needed fly-by-wire controls. Its big advantage was stealth, as good as early 1970's computers could do. The stealth advantage outweighed its instability. What would be the advantage of a saucer shape that would justify dealing with an instable system? Any ideas?
