This is cause for celebration. National Geographic's "Area 51 Declassified" has nothing to do with UFOs. It promises to be the best Area 51 documentary to date because it deals strictly with factual, documented history. Unfortunately, because it is tied to the release of the other project (something everyone on this forum will want to buy), a number of people have been saddled with contractual agreements not to give interviews until the show airs in the spring. I am familiar with both projects and I guarantee that DLR members will be pleased with the results. Lately there has been a surge of interest, among the news media and TV producers, in the real history of Area 51. This may be the result of the flood of declassified documents from the CIA and the Air Force. Also, earlier this year the CIA formally declassified the use of the terms "Area 51" and "Groom Lake" (somewhat ironic in view of the fact that these terms and their association were not classified when the CIA operated the facility).
