Was there ever any rumours that biblical artifact treasures were really held at Area 51 ?

Hope 2011 is a good year to all members.

I just watched the new years movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull...which I never watched or even really took much notice of when it came out in 2008..

and I was very surprised when I watched the opening scene and it started in Nevada airbase and it turned out to be Area 51 back in 1957...

I found the opening scene very thought provoking, especially when you see the size of the storage warehouse that is surposed to store many of the worlds historical artifacts and treasures including surposively biblical ones... The main ones related to the movie being recovered items from Roswell
and the Ark of the Covenant...

I recall seeing a UFO documentary and reading a website that did suggest that Adolf Hitler did
have true interest in finding the Biblical treasures
such as the Holy Grail, and the Ark...
His motives being that would have given him ultimate knowledge and power

and also that he was experimenting and designing
Disc like flying machines...during the war in 1940s.

After the War, It was said a lot of the Scientists / Engineers involved in that project were moved to work in the USA....and that a lot of things were moved from Germany to the USA..

SO there May be some real truths to what is suggested in the Film.. and I wonder if Speilberg may have intended to base any of the film on such facts..

( I dont want to suggest this includes the Roswell / UFO / Alien rumours that are also shown in the movie )

Do any of the more knowledgable members know if there ever been any real rumours that such items like as the Ark may be being kept at Area 51...

I also recall seeing the Film National Treaures with Nick Cage where I also did think that one of the actors did refer to one of the biblical treasures being held at A 51... so that is two movies that have referred to it...

It looks like part of the new Indiana Jones movie will be set at an "Area 51" type facility (where the Lost Ark is possibly stored) and will also feature some Roswell UFO mystery lore.

In the trailer released today, I was surprised to see scenes that show a convoy of military vehicles heading to an Air Force facility that looks suspiciously like Area 51. Other scenes show Indiana Jones with his hands up, standing in front of what looks like a hangar door (bearing USAF markings) having a chase through a huge warehouse facility ( that looks like the facility where the Ark of The Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark was secreted away) Kate Blanchett's character having the spectacles sucked off her face by a crate bearing Roswell, NM 1947 markings and Indiana Jones swinging through a plate glass window in what looks like a room holding a jet engine and ejection seat.
