Definitely get one or two 5 Gal containers for extra gas. You will enjoy the peace of mind having them.

After visiting Rachel head over to Warm Springs and down Highway 6. You can view the site called Base Camp. A mysterious site in the middle of nowhere that not many people can see. You could take a drive through the middle of Base Camp past the airfield and up to the Ghost Town of Tybo. Then you could continue east on Hwy 6 and visit Lunar Crater which is a sight few see. All easily traveled on good dirt roads and accessible by any vehicle.

Bring extra water. Your not going in the desert heat so you shouldn't be putting too much strain on your cars radiator hoses and other heat sensitive parts. You will do fine. I travel all these areas by mini-van pulling an ATV trailer in the heat of the summer and have been fine. You will enjoy the wide open spaces.
