It was an A/C generator warning indicator light malfunction. I remember it well, all the dignitaries and cameras. We had to clean the shop twice over. The pilot I believe was the commander of the 99th. The warning indicator cut the mission quite short. I think they only got up to 15000 feet. But you know that may have been done on purpose just to keep the risk of any thing bad from happening. Could you imagine seeing Joan Lunden's blood boil on tape. That would not be good public relations for the AF.
