Yes, we have been working on Groom, and the rest of the NTS for a few years now (lots of custom buildings), you can check out some of the work at the attached link, and if that link doesn't wanna work you can try http://www.NyhusPhotography/ntsp. It's a joint project between Empirical Dynamics and Aeroworks-Technologies. We don't plan to use photo-real ground textures because it tends to look funky cause no one at M$ seems to have ever been to the desert.
