The dual solar facilities on the way to Tikaboo are in fact part of a large seismic array run by an NSF funded entity called Earthscope (www.earthscope.org). Specifically it's the Transportable Array T11A station at Corn Creek. It's part of a movable array of about 400 of these things that will slowly migrate across the US from west to east over a several year period. They are being used to map the Earth's crust. According to the Earthscope website, the facilities are expected to remain in place in any one spot for about 18-24 months. This particular station was installed about February 15, 2007. Google "TA-T11A" for more info on it. Now, for fun stuff. So it isn't a vehicle sensor run by our shadowy friends on the other side of the hills...but COULD it be acting as one? Lets find out!! Scienec project time.....If anyone who has visited the site can remember the specific day/time they were there, check out the link below. It will connect you to a graphical data display for the station, for any day back to February when it went operational. Remembering that its time is displayed in GMT, does the ground motion induced by your vehicle and/or your walking around register? This also works for anyone who knows when they drove by between February and now. Perhaps it's the first publicly monitored vehicle detector around A51? Enjoy it while it lasts..... Oh yeah, the station Chuck mentioned in Rachel is also part of the array. They are watching us everywhere.
