Ash Springs, which is 7 miles closer to Rachel has a very good 24/7/365 Shell Station ('R' Place) where you can get all three grades of gasoline plus diesel at any time as well as munchies, etc. Usually, gas is about two cents a gallon cheaper at R Place. The new owner of the Quik-Pik has new gas pumps that he has not installed yet and he has renamed the business to Alien Cowpoke, so, unless he has run out of money - there will eventually be a gas station / store reopening in Rachel.
