I've told this story a few times in person, but I don't believe I put it on the forum. I had Teleaid service, similar to OnStar. The free service allowed a few phone calls to check it out, so I decided to go to some place near the border and give them a ring. Well, as it turns out, the only place I could get it to work was near the Tonopah Test Range (at least as far as near the Nellis range). So I make the call and ask the guy if he can see me on the map. He said you are on "unnamed road" and there is nothing nearby. Then he said "Let me zoom out", followed by "still zooming.. zooming...Hey, you better be careful because you are very close to the border of a military base." He said he never saw anyone on a map in an area as remote.
