Some areas use 124.3. A similar but less used frequency for planes is 123.45. Sticking with the mil air theme, they often chat on "guard", 243.0MHz. Most traffic helicopters have a UHF base frequency for the company's repeater system, often with many PLs for the various sites. Should you see the chopper flying nearby, resist the urge to fire up your ham radio that is modified for out of band transmission and say "Howdy." OK, maybe once.
