If you go back and review the environmental documentation that was done some years ago for the NTS renewal, you'll find an intriguing reference to some sort of repeater facility on Hayford Peak. I'm going from distant memory here, but the subtle way the description was worded suggested it provided service to the Groom area, as well as eastern NTS and Nellis. I found it convincing enough that I added it to my list of things I would have to do one of these days. Unfortunately it appears to be such a butt-kicking climb I've always found reason NOT to do it....so far. But I'm pretty confident there's something up there worth looking at. It should have a nice view of Groom and Papoose too.
