After looking at that location on Flashearth, I explored a bit more and came across what appears to be a new landing strip located at 36 55' 42" N, 116 0' 32" W.

In Flashearth, you can toggle among eight different map sources. This landing strip shows up when Google Maps is selected, but it isn't there when Yahoo Maps is selected. I assume that the Google Map images of this location are more recent.

Anyone have an idea of what may be going on here?
