Maybe this will help clear up some of your confusion. Their are some of us who spend alot of time in the area of Area 51 and Groom Lake. I have just returned from my 8th trip this year and am planning four more before years end. If you surf the site you will see that alot of the photos have been taken in the area. These are military aircraft that are either participating in exercises such as Red Flag and Weapons School, or just flying into the Nellis Ranges to practice their combat skills. At times you may see dogfights such as were seen in the movie Top Gun or you may see them going into the target ranges where they practice their gun, bomb, missile and radar avoidance. If you are a military aviation buff their may no better place to be. That is the draw for us to travel to the area. Hope that this clears up any misconceptions that you may have.
