There is so little fuel in the desert that generally they don't bother to put out the fires unless they are very big. With reasonably caution, you won't start something that gets out of control. Of course, a good fire on Tikaboo and you are toast if you get trapped.

Having things blow up in your car due to excessive is another story. A pro photographer friend of mine has a nasty hole in one of her car seats due to a "canned air" (i.e. duster) exploding.
