You are thinking of Alamo Canyon Rd.

When you drive Alamo Rd. from 93 at the park entrace, they should indicate how far you can get. I got to the roadblock at
N36.94378 W115.20666
If you take the road to Tikaboo and forget to make the hard right hairpin turn, you will intersect Alamo Rd. The alternative is to start at the park entrance a bit south of the Tikaboo Rd., but the drive is much rougher.

There is a F15 crash about 4 miles from the roadblock.
