Area 51 Satellite Image, July 18, 2007

The western part of the North Ramp is currently being re-paved. This is likely an indication for planned future activity in that area, perhaps even the construction of new hangars. The parking area for jets has been moved to the north-east corner of the North Ramp due to the construction. Looks like three F-16 are parked there, and one aircraft that looks like an F/A-18. The North Ramp was, and quite likely still is, home of some foreign aircraft operated by the "Red Hats", so this may also be a Russian jet. Two of the three base security helicopters can also be seen parked there. The third can be seen flying over Groom Lake in the full version of this image (not visible in this clip).
