Area 51 Panorama from October 12, 2023

This time lapse montage shows a boom truck extending to one of the large dishes of the RCS range for maintenance in the early morning of Oct 12, 2024. Per Michal's trip report from that day a Groom mission was cancelled around the same time due to his presence at the view spot. It seems likely that the mission might have involved the large dish, which was being prepared in these photos.

This clip of the RCS range at the north end of Area 51 shows the large dish still pointed roughly SSW after the above pictured maintenance. The other large dish is pointed roughly ENE. There appears to be a fairly large new dish mounted to the south side of the rotating tower. After reviewing other photos taken around the same time it appears to be an optical illusion though. We will confirm on a future mission.
