The Rachel Back Gate road, also known as Valley Road, was re-routed many years ago. Unfortunately some USGS maps of the North Gate (Rachel Back Gate) area still show the old road. These maps show a split in the road just before it enters the restricted area. This split no longer exists. This may be confusing for visitors to the Back Gate. The same mistake also appears in the Nellis Range Chart maps, which are based on the USGS data.
