I think one of the YF-23 airframes is now at the AF Museum at Wright-Pat. It's a shame they just sit them out there to rot away - you'd think NASA might have been able to use them in some kind of research programme!

You're showing your age now SWK... I like the F-86 too, and I love anything designed by Kelly Johnson except I think he was having a bad day when he designed the F-104 - it was a flying coffin that thing! The Germans had over 750 in service over the years, and lost more than 300 to attrition! The Japanese and Taiwanese F-104s had more than 35% attrition rates too.

My favourites are the F-4, the F-111 (/C-AUP), and the SR-71. For functionality and performance of design, there are no better aircraft (...except the Tornado, Richard)!
